To email a photo to someone or a group of people do the following:
    1. Go into <Photos on your home screen.
    2. Select the picture you would like to email.
    3. If it is only showing the photo on the screen without the time above and the AT&T bars on the top, then simply tap the photo once.
    4. In the far bottom left, there will be an arrow with a box around it. Tap it.
    5. There will be three options: Use as Wallpaper, EMAIL PHOTO, and Assign to Contact. Tap Email Photo.
    6. Simply type in the email address(es) of the people you would like to send it to and your photo should be in their inboxes in no time!
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

That is the only way to do it. As kevlar said, it does suck in a way.

I'm pretty sure he/she already knows how to do this. He/she was simply asking if it is possible to attach a photo while replying to an email, to which someone already answered the question.

Necropost, but the above information is wrong. Go into camera roll, select the picture, tap and release and select "copy". Go to email, hit reply, tap and release and hit paste. VoilĂ !

Yes you can hit reply and then add one or multiple photos as attachments after drafting the email. Check out this blog post which explains it step by step. How to add an attachment to an existing email thread

You can also find a whole host of iphone tips and tricks there.

Links removed in this quote, as you quoted a post from 2008!
