0.11 Mbps down, 1.07 up. It appears they don't throttle the up speed, for some reason, because that's what I usually get.

That is actually an improvement on my average of 0.05. I wonder if it's a fluke

52gb and 136gb?!?!?!?!?! How huge heck can AT&T say I'm in the top 5% when I haven't even hit 3gb since this throttling been happening??

This unlimited plan from AT&T has been the biggest fluke of all time. Some say they are proud of how they've handled the situation, like you nothing makes sense to me. And why do LTE customers get throttled at 5 gigs while we only get 3? That's a big FU to iPhone customers.

I would suspect that the 2gig difference is that the LTE "privileged" customers can consume more data quickly. As speeds increase, they'll do more with data intensive apps.

My area has not been upgraded to LTE. I am not a privileged one.

I told everybody it would change & I believe they will have to alter it further. I mean you have 2 people paying the same unlimited price but get throttled at different stages. It's just stupid.

When i aproached 2GB they throttled my speed from about 2 Mbps to .08 Mbps after. I switched from the unlimited plan on my iPhone 4S for $30 to the 5 Mbps for $50 which includes making the phone a hotspot. Now I was able to cancel my iPad data plan that costs me $25 for 2 Gb per month. And now I share the 5 GB iPhone plan with my iPad and my MacBook. I am saving $5 a month and no more throttling. I use 4-5 GB per month usually. And if I go over its $10 for another GB so it works for me.

Here is a video of a guy who sued AT&T and won!

I don't think I use that much data with my iPhone, iPad, MacBook and all my 3 Internet TVs combined in 3 months. I'm not exaggerating.

From the guy in the above video: "That to me says, 'If you pay more, you get what we promised you in the first place'."

Exactly how I feel; and I bet most customers agree.

Again, I'm not arguing whether AT&T can throttle per their contract, I think they have to get to work on fixing the capacity. They work so hard to get market share, some of that energy should go into delivering what they're selling (through inference if not in technicality).

At least moving to the 3gb threshhold fixes it for me. But who knows what new, practical uses will come along that will push that usage higher in the future? Hopefully the capacity issue will be improved by then. Heck, most of what the iPhone can do now I couldn't have imagined even 5 years ago! And with NFC starting to take off, the sky's the limit!

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that people using these crazy amounts need to get a life. No way I could get mine over 3GB; I have a job. And a great wife. And family. And friends. And I drive.....

Get your nose off the iPhone screen and into the world. It's a pretty interesting place. Your 20 cats will thank you, and who knows, your Mom might even get her basement back!:ROFLMAO:

I know man it's just stupid. I honestly think it will change again. I think Verizon just came out with the 4gb for $30 to mock AT&T.

I saw that, it's 4 gigs for $30. But I'm still looking at sprint. Me and my fiancée's been trying oovoo lately on our phones and quality is great on hers and she's on sprint. It might not be the greatest for everyone but spring just works well in this area. 3 gigs for $30 just isn't enough. I don't care what anybody says, this is pure crap.
If I knew it would've came down to this I would've used 150 gigs a month like other people.

They aren't mocking them. They are just being competitive and trying to pull in AT&T customers. AT&T has 3 GB for $30 instead of 4 GB for $30, but they have other advantages over Verizon such as simultaneous 3G and voice and rollover minutes.

That's technically against forum policy. Anyway, we already know that you hate AT&T. It's one thing to say it once or twice, but running it into the ground is irritating. Just switch to Sprint. That's the best move because everyone knows that the grass is always greener on the the other side. It will all be sunshine, lollipops and roses over there. For now at least.

It's only a matter of time before Sprint starts to throttle. They all have their one thing to keep them competive. AT&T has the best 3G speeds, simultaneous 3G and voice and rollover minutes. Verizon has the best coverage. Sprint has unlimited data, but their 3G speeds are really slow in most areas.
