Actually it had nothing to do with the settings, since I set up as a new phone, nothing from swirly was left over. My point was that MMS was already enabled on my acct. With beta 1 I had to use the hacked ipcc file to get mms working. with beta 2, setting up as a new phone, it just worked (maybe the ipcc file is not altered when you update?).

To get AT&T to provision MMS your going to have to be tricky, or have a good friend that works for them, or take the people out of the equation and trick the system. Methods of how have been posted several times since beta 1 came out.

I just spoke with AT&T and told her to check my provisions and change the mms messaging and change to on so that I can test mms features on 3.0 and she did and then she said okay enjoy ur mms messaging. And someone there told her she couldn't do it. And she reveresed it. I'm going to try again later. But my guess is if u are bold to the point. They may allow it!

Pop your sim card in another mms phone and try to send one. If it doesn't send then its your acc. Keep the sim in there and call AT&T. I did try the ipcc and it didn't work so I went back to the original. So try that and let us know.

I just uploaded that one, that's the one I used on beta 1. Word of warning...I have read that the file still works on beta 2, but am not sure, I have not used it on the second beta, didn't need it.

I used the same ipcc files with 3.0 beta 2 as I did with 3.0 beta 1 and it seems to be working fine for me.

Everyone here listen up. Don't tell them that, they know about iPhone. Here's how you can easily call and get the planned changed.

When you call let them know you will be using a blackberry for a while and switching back and forth between your iphone and your work blackberry for business trip. Tell them someone told you to get a regular TXT package, and MMS so you can have WORKING text messages on your trip that don't cost you $600 or your boss will be pissed.

Or just say you are going to try out a friends blackberry for the weekend to see if you like it better.

Anything along those lines. They can't not change your plan, the contract states you can change the plan to anything you like upgrade or downgrade, and it states you may use different phones.

Try putting your sim card into an orginal mms phone and see if it works that's what I did before beta 2 came out. Then put it back into to iPhone and see if it works

Also make sure you have rebooted your phone since the change was made. Otherwise the changes won't take effect.

You should try taewing's suggestion first, if you can send and receive MMS in an MMS supported phone, and after putting the sim back in the iPhone you cannot....you can try updating to this ipcc. It will add a menu to your network settings tab to add in the APN, Username and Password for the network.

APN should be wap.cingular rname and password blank, these settings work for me.

you won't see those options unless you update your carrier settings with the ipcc file I posted. Until I used it, I didn't have them either, but mms still worked so you may not need to use it.

Mine still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

    • at&t ipcc 5.0 carrier file loaded
    • account provisioned for mms by at&t rep
    • on 3.0 beta 2
EDIT: Now it works. It just took a while to kick in. I also had to restart my phone.
