What is the best way to Pre-Order the new iPhone. Through Apple or through The carrier (AT&T ) ? Unless I decide to camp out in front of the AT&T or APPLE store . Sent from my iPhone using iCafe app
I have been pre-ordering the IPhone since the 3GS. I stood in line for the 3G... Pre-ordered the 3GS, 4, 4S I wpre-ordered with apple.com and had no issues and received the iphones the same day as launch by 8:30am to my door.
I have had no issues pre ordering the iPhone through apple.com. For the iPhone 4, however, they were back ordered, so some people didn't receive their iPhone on time.
I get up to get my pre order in as soon as possible with Apple last time I used the Applestore App since my internet service was resetting at 3am AT&T was nothing but trouble But I saw this http://9to5mac.com/2012/08/13/repor...h-international-sales-to-begin-early-october/
When you receive a preordered phone I understand the iTunes set up as new phone procedure What I dont understand is what needs to happen with the sim card in my iPhone 4 especially if the new iPhone has a "NANO SIM " Sent from my iPhone using iCafe app
I switch phones anyways we have 3 lines so I drop at AT&T and they do it all for me. But if you preorder the Applesite is connected to your carrier and the phone should be send with the sim card. You do not need to connect anymore per computer to set up your phone either. I believe as soon you activate the new phone the old sim is voided.
that sim card gets deactivated. That's what happened to me when I went from a 3GS to an iPhone 4 Sent from my iPhone 4 using iCafe app
By the way we are here right with you! From the moment the phone goes to pre order, to package tracking and the minuted the first person posted Fed Ex just rang my bell ! We have "preorder",'flight tracking your phone","waiting for the phone", "I got my phone" threads And I just have so much fun !
I have stood in line at the Apple Store every time I upgraded on launch day. I know someone who got his phone a day early because he pre-ordered it directly from AT&T's site. I don't know if they are going to be more careful from now on but it definitely changed my mind about waking up so early to go stand in line! Sent from my iPad using iCafe app
@Tattooed Alex I did manage to go through the App, usually so do not use the App for ordering I go to the store. When it comes time, I do check the App again. Since they made so many upgrades that it may just be the fastest way. I also have to add a new CC and address . I will have to do all this before hand.
@gregsho Ah this question brings back horrifying memories of ordering the iPhone 4S last year. I couldn't get through on the Apple site and I panicked and went to the AT&T site where I had no problem. Little did I know that ordering from AT&T was a bad move for more than one reason. I ordered two iPhone 4S's and straight off there were issues. I received the one email and then nothing else. AT&T took forever to update my information as of the purchase status. I thought when they were ready to ship the phones I would be charged for them officially. No! AT&T took the money two months later. Wait, it could have been nine weeks. It was a long time and I had never experienced that before with any purchse in my shopping life. When I had a problem with my iPhone 4S and took it to the Apple store for help, I got a rude awakening. The problem has since worked itself out with updates, but at the time I actually needed my phone swapped out. Unfortunately, because I purchased the phone from AT&T I was told that I had to return the phone to AT&T and then buy another phone from Apple. Because I purchased it from AT&T they would not swap out my defective phone. The Genius told me that and then the manager told me the same thing. I said, you are telling me I am being penalized because I purchased this phone from AT&T. They tried to make it sound nice, but the answer was yes. I tell you, that was enough to make me want to throw the phone at the display and leave the store but I kept it and called Apple and lodged a complaint against the store. All that being said, I will never order my iPhone from AT&T again. It's more troube than its worth. I have gone to the Apple store on 5th Avenue and pruchased my iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 but I was tired of that whole thing and decided to try and order it and get the phone at my home on launch day. Although I had a bad experience with AT&T I will order the next phone from Apple this time. Getting the phone on launch day at my house was a great experience that I will do again, just never from AT&T.
I pre-ordered my iPhone 4 on the apple website. It took about 20 minutes for the order to actually go through but it was worth not having the stand in line. And it came a day early which I'm sure won't happen again. I will be pre-ordering the new iPhone for sure.
For me I usually pre-order from apple. This time though I'm going to pre order though my carrier (3/Three)
I've never pre ordered an iPhone so this year is going to be my first try at it. I'm inclined to go with Apple Store online. This way if my carrier can't fix some issue I'll still have the option of going to Apple to get it fixed.
I preordered my iPhone 4 from AT&T. I have since been to the Apple Store twice for fixes and/or replacements with no issues whatsoever. I'm not sure what happened with yours, but the fact that my phone was ordered from AT&T did not matter to the geniuses at the particular store that I go to.
Well I wish I went to your store because those guys gave me a hard time. I felt...........dirty when i left. LOL!!! No really it left a bad taste in my mouth and I will just stick with Apple for ordering my iPhone from now on.
@imutter NICE!! It's a DATE! I'm gettin' up @ 2:50am and sitting at the computer refreshing until I get through. This time with Apple!
I preordered my 4S through Apple.com and had no issues. I'm planning on doing the same when the new iPhone comes out.
