    What's really getting annoying/confusing is the "G" moniker standing for so many things:

    4G/8G refers to flash memory size on the phone
    1G/2G refers to iPhone generation
    2G/3G refers to internet speed

    The most confusing aspect, of course, is that the 2G iphone will be 3G. Durrrr....

    It's not nearly as annoying as the confusion between jailbreaking and unlocking, though... especially with this OOB 1.1.2 issue.

    That's probably a pretty good guess. I don't see the need yet though. I gave my daughter a new Samsung A737 with 3g for Christmas and she had to go to Texas to actually get a 3g signal. Well, she's out there for the Alamo Bowl really; it just so happened that she noticed the 3g icon was active now instead of the EDGE icon that we get around here.

    on Dec 28th 2007 , I predicted the 3G iphone will be out Friday ,June 27 , 2008

    seems im pretty close with all the rumors going around now . i might even be right on or 20 days off .
