Default What does this mean

On my Installer icon on the screen of my 2g jailbroken phone there is a red box with the number 7804 in it. What is it and how do I get rid of it.

I have refreshed the sources.

Thanks

I'm afraid you're not gonna get too much help with installer since it's rarely being used anymore. Good luck, though.

I agree. Just try to completely ignore the Installer icon and and only use Cydia. Next time you JB, choose install "Cydia only" instead of Cydia and Installer.

Bit of a newby to all this so thanks for the advice on Installer.

Can I get rid of it by using iPhoneBrowser and deleting it from Apps like I did with the stocks and weather ?

You always try. If it causes problem, you may just have to restore & jailbreak again. Just make sure not to install "Installer" again.

Decided to just rename it as a 1/2 way measure and so far no apparent ill effects

Download BossPrefs through Cydia install it and use the 'poof' section to hide installer all together- it will vanish from your springboard/homescreen

The above peeps who've posted are all right, installer is rarely used. I would restore and re-jailbreak but i've just got my phone how i want it.
