I repeated this step for about two times. After that, EUREKA! The touch functions returned to normal. I unchecked all the add-on features of Kate and uninstall it.

This is only based from my experience.

Hope all of you can fix it.

if u can't get to the installer to uninstall it turn the phone on and off untill i
the screen does work. If it is causing the touch screen problem I would not sugest using the app again. I have had this problem several times in the past few weeks.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

nothing and absolutely nothing will work on this one...this is the iphone killer...

just do the following (my iphone's a 16 gig 1.1.4)
1. go to itunes
2. backup iphone
3. jailbreak it once
4. restore it
5. the phone comes back but carries the carrier warning about sim
6. jailbreak again (all comes back to normal)
7. restore your backup from itunes

well atleast my text msgs came back, contacts came back and calendar came back...everything else's gone...i had a proud 5 screens of applications...all gone now and must be built from a scratch...but a lesson well learnt.....

I respectfully repeat my statement that I think a sticky is a good idea.

I have been incredibly paranoid since Screenshot nearly crashed my phone.
If I had to restore, I would have been DEAD.

I feel we have a responsibility to anyone who comes to this website to warn them about anything that can damage their phone..

Just my humble opinion.

Good Day, Sir

Dana, that's quite a good idea. However, as this and screenshot are really all you need to steer clear of as of now, I'll wait to create that thread until we have a good list going. For now, I advise everybody to always search about an application before they download it. A search in Google brings up a thread similar to this and a search here brings up this thread.
