i HATE kate! I downloaded via Installer. Kate screws up my phone calls.

I cannot make a call. I click the phone icon and closes it self straight away and when receiving a call I am not able to hang up?

I'm sure you can get it to restore. Will iTunes recognize your iphone? If not then search DFU mode and try that. Once iTunes recognizes your phone then set up as a new device and be on your way.

Default the ***** is gone.

Hey Guys,

Yes, I too installed kate, and as a result I lost my generic Phone app. I've just got rid of it. Here's what I did:

For some reason when I downloaded it, it didn't install an icon on my home screen, so I couldn't delete it from there.

I simply went into Settings, Rip DEV, Rip Dev Products, Kate. I unticked all the services and pressed 'Done' I think (it was the button in the top right corner). My iPhone thought about it a couple of minutes, and then brought me back. I then rebooted. (Holding Home and Power buttons). When it loaded back up, I then went to Installer, and went to Unistall. After a reboot (Holding Home and Power buttons) the ***** was gone.

Hope this helps somebody.

Rob

Ok, I usually find something to help me out after 2 or 3 days of searching the net but I'm screwed by kate. Like robgale's post above, I also did not have an icon on my home screen when kate installed. Here is the weirdest part....after installing and finding that it was a POS, I tried to remove through SSH but NONE of the files are listed anywhere in my iphone...WTF?

Can anybody help? I'll send you a case of beer or something

Yeah, kate 2.0.5 is jacked up, to say the least...Phone app crashed after trial license expired, springboard icons lose labels and get rearranged...I found a solution here...

Scroll about half way down and take a look at the screen shots. The panel with the check marks is the Kate.app referred to on the ripdev web site. Uncheck all of these and then go back into Installer, choose 'Kate (Utilities)' and tap 'Uninstall'.

Once the task is complete, exit Installer and power off your iPhone and power back on. Mine is finally back to normal...at least as normal as a jailbroke iPhone is going to be.
