Default Kate Vs. 1.1.4

First mistake of installing Kate & second of restarting it. After that it messed up my iPhone, by screen don't response to touch. I did download file manager on my PC for iPhone but i couldn't see my file in it so can manually delete the Kate files, even though Jailbreak didn't work.

Couldn't restore from iTune as well. So I used Ziphone software to 'Do it All' after it done. My screen start working but can not uninstall Kate because it do not appear in Installer. So i reinstall it, but did not restart by iPhone and went back into Installer to uninstall it and finally i got out of my iPhone.

My iPhone is back to normal.

Want to get the Kate out...

So use Ziphone software to 'Do it All' after it done. My screen start working but can not uninstall Kate because it do not appear in Installer (along with what ever install on your iPhone). So i reinstall it, but did not restart by iPhone nor opened it and

went back into Installer to uninstall it and finally i got out of my iPhone.

I can fix that, but every time I reboot or respring, I see flashing black and white lines for about five seconds, and then settings and icon order are reset. Now I have to restore.

What happened on my iPhone was that the touchscreen function works only in springboard. This means that when I execute any application, the screen starts to freeze and you cannot tap anything. All you can do is to hit home button.

When you hit the lock button, the screen does not turn off, instead, it just goes to dim mode. I TRIED restarting it for SEVERAL times but nothing changes.

My last choice was to just restore it and start from scratch.

But, it happened that I fixed the damn thing! What I did was: when you 'slide to unlock' it, I tapped the calendar*(you can see this when you checked it on the Kate app,not the built-in app) several times and give it a few seconds (the screen returned back to locked mode). I repeated this step for about two times. After that, EUREKA! The touch functions returned to normal. I unchecked all the add-on features of Kate and uninstall it.

This is only based from my experience.

Hope all of you can fix it.

I found the only way to access my phone was to tap the calendar upon unlock. Let it sit for a while on the calendar not the events, until it goes back to lock, then tap it again. Make sure no matter how many times you tap it you leave it on the "calendar" not the "events" page. Do this a few times (4-5) and then hit the unlock button. You will have access to touch. Now if you do not go into the Kate program and uncheck ALL of the checked marks it will do ZERO good whatsoever. I did not do this the first time and had to go back very reluctantly and re-install Kate to access the checkmarks. So once you get into Kate uncheck ALL of the boxes even the uninstall box. Hit apply. Then go into your installer and remove the STUPID DUMB A$$ program referred to as"Kate"!

Munch munch is right.

This is a very sorry excuse for a program. Obviously it has issues.

DO NOT INSTALL KATE!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant but if it wasn't for the dude earlier on in this thread who said to do this process I would have started from scratch with my phone.

Default Kate App Sucks

Don't use KATE it blocks up iPhone and if you're not careful you might end up with a very expensive brick.

I made the dumb mistake of installing Kate (even while I was on vacation!) and have uninstalled it using every method here, but even though it's out of installer, and I don't see any of the directories when I SSH my phone, I still have the touch screen problem but I figured out how to fix it. Before I even had Kate uninstalled from installer, I figured out that if you turn off your phone for about 3-5 minutes to drain all of the capacitors, the touch screen will work after I turn it back on. That was the only way I was able to get into installer to remove Kate, and I still have to do it. If I turn the phone off and turn it right back on, my lock screen won't go black and my touch screen won't work in any apps, but if I leave the phone off for about 5 minutes before turning it back on, viola!

Default Solution, at least for me.

I can fix my iphone using this trick :
1. open kate.app (i know, your touchcreen is dead now)
2. plug your iphone, open itunes, then sync it.
3. wait, wait for about 1 - 2 minute, you will hear sound, then your touchscreen will work again with kate.app open.
4. uncheck everything that you have installed from kate
5. click apply
6. restart the iphone
7. the most important step : uninstall kate !!!!

good luck
