Phone number format on contact list?

Does anyone know how to change the number format used by iPhone to store phone numbers on the contact list?

The original format puts the first 3 digits of any phone number in parenthesis.

That's not the format we use in Chile for phone numbers, so I was wondering if anybody knew of a third party app that might solve my problem.

I don't know of an app that does that, but I'm curious what format you use? Is it just without the parenthesis?

Change it in Settings >General > International > Region Format and then choose wherever you're from.

It's the U.S. format. For example, an 8 digit cel phone number (in Chile) appears on the contact list like this:

(xxx)xxxxx
