Movie Download App?

Haven't jb my phone since back in the 2.x days, decided to recently. Are there any apps that let you download movie files through safari? I'm not talking about the streaming / torrent type stuff, but if there is a link to a movie I want a "right click -> save as" type feature.

Nope.

You can however use dTunes. Depending on what size movies your talking about, do you mean a full movie?

If size isn't an issue then you can defo download through dTunes, you need to have Terminal installed as well. All available from Cydia.

Nah, mainly for streaming sites that link directly to the mpg files. Takes forever to load on anything but wifi. And if you play/pause it often times messes them up.

What is dtunes exactly?

We can't discuss much further as it's against forum policy. The information I have given you is only from what I've read, I wanted a better understanding also, hence the research. You'll find that google and/or yahoo have the answer.

lol, can't talk about music downloadnig on a forum dedicated to hacking/unlocking phones? It's legal to download mp3's if you own the original (iTunes or CD).

You weren't talking about downloading music, you were talking about downloading movies. I'm sure there's a law, that has something to do with Copyright out there somewhere

Jailbreaking isn't illegal, and is in fact encouraged here because it enhances the user experience. Discussing cracked apps is stealing from developers and it is against forum policy. Pirating music ruffles the feathers of many people here, and while it isn't against forum policy (AFAIK), you just don't want to go there. Trust me. So far, no one has really seemed to mind when we discuss movie torrents. This is just my perception.

You can download any form of media (software, video, music) as long as you own the original.

Isn't it against AT&T ToS and Contract?
I know unlocking it is, especially modifying the broadband.

Hacking my satellite would enhance my experience with added channels, but doesn't mean it's legal

It's an area where I don't really want to go to.

As for ruffling feathers over music. It's exactly the same with films.

When you download a Torrent and use whichever piece software you use to download the movie/application i.e Vuze ...your still stealing it. You haven't payed for it (unless it was free in the first place, but thats a different subject), so why should any normal person go and spend there hard earned cash on buying it legit, when you can just steal it.
If this isn't forum policy, then it should be. If cracked apps are wirtten into our rules, then movie/music downloading should be in there as well.

It's only stealing if you don't own the original. I don't want to spend the time converting / resizing / debugging a DVD I already own to get it into a good iPhone format. If I own a movie, it's perfectly legal for me to DL an iPhone version of it.

I agree, jailbreaking is cracking/hacking Apple's copyrighted software.
