"Listen" only allows Sony Erickson phones now?
In the past hour I have been getting a message every time I try the program that the service is only allowed for Sony Ericsson phones and it won't tell me the song name anymore. Is this happening to anyone else?

Which version are you running? There is a new one in Installer that I just noticed. I don't want to install it until I know whether your having that problem with the new version (Beta-06) or with the previous one (Beta-01)

Ok, I just confirmed with my room mate who also has an iPhone and it's true, only Sony Ericsson phones now. And we have the latest version. What a hike, I hope Erica figures out some kind of work-around.

I suspected this would happen.
I looked at the binary when it was first released and the only URL I found was this:
http://wap.sonyericsson.com/recognize/query
As soon as they found out iPhones were using it, you better believe they were going to put a stop to it.

I wonder if there's a work around and whether or not it would be legal. I also wonder how Erica will handle this. I posted a comment on her site and I see you did too

Yes I did.
As I asked Erica, I hope she has a plan for this. Or maybe I'm wrong and something else is causing this.

I hope so. This is my most favorite app for the iPhone yet, I was playing with it all last night and it never got a song wrong, even Spanish music. What quality! And what disappointment if Erica can't fix this. I'd be willing to pay for this app if Sony would let us.

From ericasadun.com...
Listen is off-line
Erica Sadun | 1:09 pm | January 11, 2008 | Admin, Software, iPhone
For now the Listen proof-of-concept is off-line. I applied to Gracenote a while ago for a developer license and have been waiting for them to respond. All further Listen development depends on the Gracenote licensing, who are probably off at CES and Macworld.

For some reason I thought it a bit odd that she doesn't seem to acknowledge using Sony-Ericsson's server.
Oh well, it's dead for now.
