I just opened Cydia and on the home page, I noticed that there is a waring posted. It says "DO NOT go to CydiaStore.com, that IS NOT Cydia, that is a phishing attack". Right below it is "Cydia Store:Now Open!" and that has been there for the past several days. The first time I noticed it (several days ago), I clicked it and it took me to a website that seemed to have nothing to do with Cydia so I closed it and tried again, same thing (but I can't remember what it was). Now that I see this warning this morning, I'm wondering if that is the phishing site. If so, wouldn't Saurik remove the link on Cydia?
Does anyone know if he's saying don't click the "Cydia Store:Now Open!" link or don't go to CydiaStore.com? I'm afraid to click the link again to find out where it takes me, lol.
well on the CydiaStore.com site theyre saying.:: We are NOT affiliated with the CydiaStore Jailbreak app ::.

i think the cydia guy is just bitter, all the cydiastore domains are registered...where do i get his app?
i am making a general comment about the domains, they are all purchased and the cydia guy should have thought of buying them. wouldnt you agree.
i know what cydia is, just not sure if i want to jailbreak my phone. looks clunky and not ready for primetime.
Cydia? Not ready for prime time?! I disagree; I've gotten many useful apps from Cydia:
MxTube: Watch and download YouTube videos directly to your iPhone, storing them locally for later viewing.
Cycorder: Video recording (with audio) for the iPhone.
Clippy or hClipboard: Pretty good implementations (especially hClipboard, in my opinion) of copy & paste on the iPhone.
xGPS: Voice turn-by-turn GPS navigation.
dTunes: Play music downloaded to your iPhone through www.seeqpod.com
im not saying it is not useful. thinking bigger picture, do you expect an average person to just go jailbreak their phone, setup payment gateway etc. it needs to be simplified if it wants to hit a large audience.
ahh gotcha, totally agree![]()
In addition to the apps Napoleon mentioned, there is also live video streaming (Qik), custom themes, tethering phone to a laptop for use of the phones 3G internet connection, and many more. It's very simple to JB and I've heard that 1.5 million people have jailbroken their iPhone's although I don't know how accurate that is.
