Default Categories problem - Please help!

Hey guys,

I've jailbroken my phone a few times and usually when I updated (to 2.3 and 3.0 etc etc) I would just re-jailbreak it and all my apps would come back, and when I'd install winterboard my original wallpaper settings etc would come back.

More to the point, the other day I decided to install Categories through Cydia.. reading all the warnings about the problems it can make.. so when I updated to 3.0.1 I was expecting that once I re-jailed it... categories would remain the same, return my folders etc... but unfortunately nothing came back.. Categories still shows my Folders (Games (0) , Utilities (0) ) but nothing in it.. and when I goto App Store to try and download the apps again it says they're already installed.. so i'm guessing they're still on the iPhone somewhere

Anyhoo, I was just wondering if there was anyway of getting the apps back/unhidden.. without restoring or using openSSH etc..

Thanks in advance.

You may have to delete categories and start over.

mm I've tried that... but when I goto the app store, the apps that were eaten by Categories still say "Installed" and I can't redownload them.. and there not on my SB so I can't delete them..

annoying huh..

Ouch! All I can think of is:
1 restore
2 unjailbreak rejailbreak
3 hard reset by pressing and holding the power button and the home button till the slider comes up, the screen shuts off, and the apple icon appears then let go of the buttons.
Good luck

Go to settings>General>Restrictions Enable restrictions. Close settings back to the home page, then go back and disable restrictions.

I think you have to go into your sb settings look under hide icons. then you have to manually turn off or on your icons again for them to appear on your phone or something like that. Then they will appear on your spring board and for itunes to recognize them.

Now that i reread your post a little more closely i realize you updated and jailbreak and your expecting to return your icons i dont think my answer is going to help you.
