Hi,

It is hard to get a feel for how many people really want the Iphone that bad on launch date here in Las Vegas.

I've called both Att stores on the northwest side of town, Charleston and Ann Road. Both expect "good" turnouts, but nothing really solid. I imagine you could get a different opinion depending on who you talk to.

There is an Apple store in the Fashion Show mall, but again I don't even know if camping is really necessary in Las Vegas.

What part of town are you on? I live in the northwest area, but would be interested to hear more from anyone in Las Vegas.

I don't actually live in Vegas, just in for the World Series of Poker. I'm at the Rio through mid-July.

I live here. I'm in the southern-ish part of town off of I-215. Green Valley Ranch Casino Area. I will be setting my alarm about an hour before the 2 At&t stores I choose. And will be waiting at the Door with my running shoes. But I don't mind brining a Tent the night before. :P

Hi there,

Do you mean an hour before the two stores open? I think At&t stores all open at 9am?

You are on the total opposite side of the spectrum. I think most of our people are too busy gambling their lives away on penny or nickel machines! One could only hope!

This whole camping business is driving me insane. We have all read the 3 million Iphone rumored initial shipment, and that makes camping a total waste of time.

I doubt Apple is going to release the initial shipping numbers. They want to drive as much hype into the Iphone as humanly possible.

Anyhow, good luck. Please post your initial impressions and keep this thread going with any Vegas residents wanting to get the Iphone!

I'm up in the Northwest as well (Buffalo & Lake Mead)… I'm already taking off work, and gonna wait in line. I'm not camping out over night, but I'll be there from the time the store opens (or shortly thereafter)… Just not sure where. Should I head down to the Fashion Show and sit in a air conditioned building with free wifi from the Apple Store, or should I just go to the AT&T store right around the corner from my house and sit in the heat?

There will probably be more of a line at the Apple Store and more of a chance of it selling out. At a standstill. What do you think?

Which store are you going to?

I am thinking about the one on West Charleston (ATT). I called the Fashion Show Mall about 3-4 days ago, and a representative said they are expecting a "ton" of people. Take it with a grain of salt again with anything a representative says. He also said that the "6pm sell" is just a rumor. I am not sure what to make of that either.

Anybody else?

I'm going to the AT&T store on Buffalo & Lake Mead… It's shaded and there's a Starbucks just a couple doors down.

I bet there will be a ton of people at the Fashion Show, more the reason why I'm steering away from that idea. And, I think I believe the "rumors" as well as the Apple Press Release, that the iPhone goes on sale at 6pm. Not sure why he would even say that.

Default Green Valley area

So unfortunately I work 6-10 next Friday (how perfectly bad luck!), but I think I might go Saturday morning and hope there is an iPhone or two left. Although I don't even know if I can get the phone yet since my contract probably isn't up until July... we'll find out next week!
