You should make sure those are corporate stores and not independants. Only the corporate stores will have the iPhone.
BTW, I grew up in Knoxville. Went to UT but left after college and moved out here to sunny CA. All my family still lives there.

6p.m.
At the keynote today..Steve said the iPhone will be shipped at 6.pm on the 29th....so I'm not sure if that means available for purchase or sent to stores. We need to figure that out before we head out.

def. i think im going to go to the store by the mall and wait there the morning of the 29th, and if they decided to wait till 6pm, ill just drive across the street to the apple store and wait there.

Sounds like a good idea to me. From what I've read he meant "go onsale at 6p.m." but I'm thinkin everyone is going to offer it up when they open...i can't see everyone waiting until 6. There going to jump the gun if they have it.

I know Oak Ridge will have some at 6. It's a corporate store about 15-20 minutes outside of Knoxville. They are shutting down for a couple of hours and are reopening at 6pm to launch. I wonder if that would be a better place to go?

stopped by the store near chilis on kingston pike this afternoon. they had a sign on the door stating that they will be closing at 4pm on the 29th, then reopening from 6-10pm. they even had a stand inside with a large picture of the iphone on it and the date June 29th. i got too excited, and had to leave the store.
