Well right now I'm sitting on a bench at my house outside, waiting for a phone call, and I just couldnt help notice these ants. There's a lot of them that keep going back and forth, but when each ant comes across another one, they stop face to face, and then keep going in the direction they were going in. Idk...maybe theyre passing something along like food or crumbs or something?Does anyone know what they could possibly be doing?

Well one of the last subjects I learned in my CP Biology class, was about "chemical responses/ and communication" in animals... So the queen ant was probably releasing pheromones- or chemical scents- that the ants were possible reacting to it?...
-I cant really explain why they stop when they're face to face, all they have is antenaes so....I think that they did that to help one another with a load, cause ants -as you probably already know- are very keen on teamwork

They were probably just giving one another a message, or like projectdarkside said, pheromones from the queen. Either that or just passing on more food. But i dont know why they would be doing that if they are giving food to one ant going the opposite direction.

I tried to picture that, and reason with it but I got nothing that would really make sense. . .
