Default RIP: Dan Fogelberg 1951-2007

For those old enough to remember. A great loss for the music world.

Not necessary my favorite song (Run for the Roses), but this one plays on the iPhone loud and clear on YouTube:

I saw him at the Red Rocks Amphitheater (great acoustics!) in Colorado for my birthday.

He will be missed by many. The iTunes' music store has a special page on him today.

No, that's Tom Fogerty, with CCR, and he died in 1990 from AIDS at the ripe age of 48. You are a little bit late to hear the news.
Dan Fogelberg wrote

#18 - Run for the Roses (1982)
#21 - Heart Hotels (1980)
#23 - Missing You (1982)
#24 - The Power of Gold (1978) (with Tim Weisberg)
#29 - Make Love Stay (1983)
#31 - Part of the Plan (1975)

A very different style, no doubt.

Actually, John Fogerty, Tom's brother, was the leader of CCR and wrote those songs. And John is very much alive and still putting out music.

You're right. I confused the brothers. Had Dan on my mind. He was a lot cuter.

It has something to do with my lovely and now-deceased dog Geordi.

Looks like a young dog in that picture. Pets are like humans, you miss them when they are gone.
