Help! Scary experience on the esper chatroom!

Dude the weirdest thing just happened to me! I was on the chat-room and noone in the EIC chatroom was their so I went to another chat-room "called chatpad" or something. Their were these weird people in their, and I was just totally messing around and then one of them pulls up my service provider and city where I lived!!
-How did he/she do that?
-Do they have my info or anything?

Im not to scared but I've seen this on the news countless time
-Please tell me that they dont have personal info or anything?

Don't worry. In IRC, you can "whois" somebody. This process reveals their IP address, and through that, you can get the location of the IP and the ISP. It's just some jerk trying to scare you. We won't let those weirdys in #EIC.

-Cause the people there were so weird! Like they talk to me and give me links to these websites that show the absolute nastiest things I could ever see, and one kept asking me where I lived? So I went "Pedophile alert", then they were like "projectdarkside you made me sad", and the next ya kno he's shows my Hometown and and service provider! And then this one guy kept doing this weird thing were every post he made would draw a picture of something lol!
-Im never gonna go "wondering" around again! Next time I'll just wait for the other EIC'ers to arrive hehe

yeah, like John said, nothing to worry about. I've played that trick on people who have irritated me in the past on IRC. no biggie.

-It didnt scare me too much its just the weird thing they were doing that led up to it. Like somehow they could type really FAST, and those smiley faces they could make anyone of them in under a second! Then they could make pictures by just using the keyboard. I seriously thought these guys were asian hackers or something cause it was so unrealistic as to what they could
