Default Dana - Come Back Out & Play

Man, I don't enjoy writing a soppy-sounding title like that but I had drafted a reply in the 'Dana: Not Playing Well With Others' thread I guess just as it was being closed per Dana's reqest.

So ... I know you were not fishing or seeking response Dana, and I hope you'll forgive getting some.

Thing is, don't mean to be pushy Sir Daygood, but you're easily one of the most consistently interesting people to 'hear' in these pages. I know you've said there are a combination of reasons for taking a little hiatus, but one of them I think was not feeling or being funny just now. To which I think lots of us would say 'Who feckin cares!' You are way underestimating yourself if you think you only supply 'light relief' here. Shit, it is only a couple nights ago that you were scaring the pants off me with your profiling questions for iphoneconnie and making me glad I love animals and you'll never be on my trail. You are witty and entertaining and above all interesting to hear from, funny or scary or just plain purveyor of good-time drummer stories.

So I'd say sod it - post away when you're in funny or joyous or melancholy or sad or friggin' whatever frame of mind - you're always good value.

I fully expect OJ to tell me I am kissing some sorta parts of you and wanting to sniff your unmentionables and such - but I'm hoping you're already working up a good old profile on him (can't be hard to top what's been done in the past eh?) and can handle that.

Get back in the sandbox Dana ....

ditto on all of what patrick just said. I also tried replying and it didn't let me either.

Come on back Dana and don't mind OJ. His bark is much bigger than his bite. He's even said himself that most of the time he's playing. I think people take him way too seriously and see more there than what there really is in his posts. It's characters like yours, OJ's and others that makes this site more than just a site dedicated to a device like most others. EIC would be at a loss without you.

Not to go against Dana's wishes to avoid flattery and all but I too would like to see the return to normalcy. That being everyone having fun and all. That is reliant on our core EICers playing their part. We all have a function. You can't weave a basket if all the pieces go the same direction. Some go up and down, some go side to side and they cross each other at times, but in the end the work together to create something bigger. Hope that was an eloquent metaphor. If not then... imagine I used one that was...

I can get with that metaphor - though I have to say I kinda picture you as the guy just sorta marching round the basket-weaving room wearing the prototypes over your head and dancing badly (and most likely capturing it on film and asking if the basket hat detracts in any way from your manliness)

Laughed out loud at my desk. TOTALLY see Hayes doing this. Although, I see him wearing the chiquita banana/fruit hat instead.

What puzzles me is that more infractions must be handed out and more moderation must be done in the Off-Topic forum than any other. I've talked with Dana about OJ's comments, and I'm sure he will return. In the meantime, we need to keep in mind that the words Off Topic do not mean do and say whatever the heck ya fell like.

Also, I concur as to what Patrick said above.

That's because most of the old diehards have moved to the off topic section since we've had an iPhone a year and theres not much to discuss for a few more days. It's been a cut up fest for a few weeks. But I agree people must use a little bit better judgement or restraint. It's ok to push the limits or else the place would be boring but some things have entirely crossed the line.

I agree. I mean heck I get all kinds of heck from some. But I'd be a little hypocritical if I pretended I didn't bring it on myself. I just wish people would get back to the good ribbings and all that and not get so... angry at posts from others. I mean granted I am very quick to retort at times, but I can also tell when someone is posting merely to stir the stuff up... Which I think is the issue lately. Anyway, the Drama Llama has been workin overtime lately... maybe things will die down as soon as we get some Apple News...

I spoke with Dana earlier yesterday, and he said that OJ must be in a foul mood or something.

I do believe I made a joke about him being on his period or something of the sort...

Anyway, I do anticipate Danas return as much as anyone else, if not more, as Dana is like the really cool older brother (although not as dangerous as a real one)....

and OJ really needs to stop with his comments lately...

long haired girly boy.

hahahahahaha....
