I bought the DVD, after reading a few (not so good) blu ray reviews. I just picked up the SD version. was only $4.99 (with my $10 certificate from BB)

I agree. It's not exactly what I expected. Some of the anime is excellent. I liked the first of the six parts because of the story telling. I rented it instead of buying it. That's always an option.

I think the problem some, or many people may have is that each part's climax is very fast. They build up and <POW> it's resolved. Just my 2 cents.

What exactly are the clips about? Is there any consistency amongst the clips?

Not at all. One has deadshot, one has killer croc, one has the mob, etc. The plots aren't interlinked at all despite what the synopsis says.

Each different clip has a completely different style of animation (batman looks different every time). While some enjoy that, I found it distracting.

I thought that it was pretty good; the first two movies were awful, though the other four were well-done and more "Batman-like". Overall, I enjoyed this, though thought that the producers could have done so much more with this.
