Why are my contacts seperated between iPhone and MobileMe?

I was looking through my contacts and realized that I now have a group called MobileMe Contacts and then another one called iPhone Contacts which I hadn't noticed before 3.0. Shouldn't MobileMe be syncing all my contacts so that they are all the same? The iPhone contacts seem to be mostly outdated.

Anyone else having this problem?

I had this problem for my contacts and my calendars. I had to delete the mac/mobile me account from my phone and then re-install it.

Somehow I did not merge the data properly when I got the new iPhone and then I also synced my iphone with the stuff from Mobile Me and from the computer.
