The me.com email address is active for some members, works sending and receiving. There are some other changes, online calendar, contacts, email, and idisk interfaces are all supposed to be changed according to the email I got from Apple.

I don't think so. I think the 6th is just the day that Bookmark Syncing goes down. Also, I ordered MobileMe with my MacBook and haven't received any notifications of any kind on it.
