mobileme deletes other mail accounts on imac

I have a laptop that I link to my iphone and mobile me...its only my mail accounts one pop account and .mac ( 10.4)

I have another imac that is used my multiple users, multiple pop acounts.

When I synced htis to mobile me all the other unsynced pop accounts were deleted.

In addition my pop account on the imac and on the laptop dont sync ..only the mac account does.

Any work around or fixes?

1. keep pop accounts form being deleted
2. allow certain pop accounts to sync

Or is it just all smoke and mirrors and if you dotn have a mac account or an exhange serer then you are out of luck.
