Mobileme? - iPhone 3G

I am still new to Macs so i was wondering if it was worth getting Mobileme? I want to store pictures, movies and programs etc. for people to download. Can you only upload and download so much or is it unlimited? Would this be just like having a website for people to download or would that be a better route for me to go? Is the 20 GB enough to do things like this?

Yes, on mobileme, you have a personal storing place called "iDisk" (just think of it as a hard drive, not attached your computer), inside which you have a public folder. Anybody can access your public folder, from where they can download files. However, you can also set the permissions so that they cannot download the files, but only view them etc.

So i could backup my MBP to it and if i need to restore i can do it through mobileme? Is it unlimited upload and download up to 20 gb?

Yes, though I do not think that you can back up to your mobileme iDisk using TimeMachine. I think you will have to use "Backup", which you will be able to download if you become a member.

Yes they can.
IMO, MobileMe is worth the purchase, though do not just buy on my word, because I would hate to see you be very unhappy and dissatisfied and it be down to me lol.
Do you have an iPhone? Because if so, then that is even more reasons for buying it. They work seamlessly together now.

Thanks for your input and yes i do have a iPhone v1. Also work for a big company that use microsoft exchange server for email. i can go to site to check my work emails. I guess this would be cheaper than a regular website to have my out of state family to upload pictures and things for me to view. They all have windows system. I am the only mac user lol.

And all my non mac family members can use also to upload and download from here also right? Do they need anything special to do so?

Yes they can, using any internet browser.
