Quick update- I installed Interways and ran it head to head with MobileMe. Both worked well, after I forwarded my office email account to them. They pushed as well as Blackberry ever did. I am now trying the same thing- forward to other service- to my Yahoo! (Sbcglobal.net) account. Could be hopful!

I did notice two things: one, i did a restore on my phone per an Apple tech support rep. I noticed that it restored differently- screens looked different. And now it works. He suggested it may be a new build of 2.1.

Also, i changed my office mail retrieve from POP to IMAP. Huge improvement, and the delete at work clears the handheld as well.

I posted this as a new post elsewhere, sorry for the clutter.

Why doesn't the delete from the phone clear your e-mail at work?

It does, on the IMAP account. It doesn't clear when it is forwarded to get Push. Kind of a belt and suspenders approach. They come to the PUsh Yahoo account immediately, but if i wait, they will get to the IMAP folder on the phone, where they can be deleted from the server.

i am very disappointed that mobile me does not support entourage 2004. Does anyone know what the status of 2008..will it work if i upgrade? I have sent my details to interway and awaiting my account to be approved. I would prefer mobile me though. The reason I bought my iphone was because i was tired of using 3rd party programs to to the same things that everyone with windows does seamlessly. I hope that apple rectify the problem asap or maybe I am missing something?

Have you tried interways? They support Entourage 2004 no problem!

BTW, interways now support calendars from other users (subscribed calendars) on the iPhone. Great for business or family use...
All in all a great solution at a bargain price.

There's more to MM than push. There's 20GB of storage, web hosting, backups, photo sharing, back to my mac, etc. You can also find it for $60-70 on eBay.

...and "Find My iPhone" may not be worth anything till you lose your phone...but when you do, it might be priceless. Just Food For Thought.

I just signed up for mobile me. The only reason I wanted it was for "find my phone". $100 a year for that service is a lot, but I figured it's actually cheaper than using AT&T's tracking service, which is $10 a month for one phone. With mobile me you get some pretty cool additional features.

You can find it cheaper than 100 on amazon or ebay. I paid like 60 for a 1 year subscription. The push mail is nice too.
