Default found my iphone, thanks MobileMe

dropped my iphone in a cab last night, got out and cab was gone already.
shoot, now i have to pay for another phone, light bulb goes off in my head.
go to Mobileme and realized my "find my iphone" feature was not turned on.
calling the phone like crazy and sending it messages with the 2 min alert.
finally 20mins later the driver of the cab calls me back and returns the phone for a $50 reward.
thank goodness for the messaging on the mobileme site!
everyone who has an iphone should get MobileMe!

He would be the first, but technically he didn't really use the Find my iPhone feature since it wasn't activated on the phone before losing it. He used the MobileMe message feature instead.

Glad to hear you recovered it crs127

Oh and I'll apologize in advance in case you aren't a he.

I'm glad to hear you got your iPhone back!

Did the cab driver demand a $50 reward, or did you volunteer it? I hope he didn't demand it...

thanks everyone.
i got in the cab in manhatten and got out in queens, by the time the cabbie read my message on the iphone he was back in manhatten.
i offered him $50, $20 would not get him back to queens and I thought $50 was perfect, so did the cab driver.
btw, male here.

That was a nice gesture on your part to offer $50. I'm glad it had a happy ending. Thank you for sharing your story.
