Default does mobileme support shared contacts?

My wife and I both have iPhones. We also have many friends in common, but some not - I also have a large library of business contacts she could care less about. Does MobileMe let you share contacts with other accounts? Ideally we'd have a "shared" folder or something that would sync to both our phones and private contacts that do not. If they could do that, that alone would be worth the subscription fee.

You can't do that. Only one set of contacts. Sorry.

You could export it thru iCal and send her the info and she could put it in hers. That is the only way I know of.

Well, thanks for the responses. Was looking for something more automated - I really can't count on my wife to send me iCal updates when she changes a phone number - if it was automatically pushed to me that would be great. Guess I'll try it with the 60 day trial and see if it's worth it anyway - thanks for the comments!

Hold on tiger - it's possible.

We have 2 iPhones. Open up the address book and create groups. That way, your wife can have her own set of contacts (like a playlist in iTunes). Then, set your phone to sync groups. Now, when you go into contacts, you can select only a certain group and that's all you'll see unless you choose another group or all contacts.
