Can someone explain to me what idisk is? - iPhone 3G

I just bought an Imac a few days ago, and also purchased mobile me. What exactly is idisk?

iDisk is a means of storing data online. With a single user MobileMe account, you get a 20 GB iDisk. You can drag and drop files to and from the iDisk in the Finder.

so, basically it acts as a virtual drive on your computer? I can access it from my iMac, rather than having to go online?

Yes, it's accessed through the sidebar in Finder.

Just select Go > iDisk. It mounts as if it were a networked drive which in many ways I guess it is.

Will there be a pc version of iDisk for us folks who cant afford a MAC (lol j/k) or will pc-ers have to do it all online?

There was a PC idisk application for .mac in the Member Central page of mac.com
You can get to part of it via your browser with: http://idisk.mac.com/username-Public
You can use WebDAV, the Internet-based file sharing protocol which iDisk supports. The address of your iDisk will always be: http://idisk.mac.com/username/?view=web

Username=.mac/.me id
