Default Question About Selling an iPhone Here

I am considering selling my 8GB iPhone that is in excellent shape. It has always been in a case, never near keys or the like and has the Crystal Shield on it. I have 2 extra shields as well as the Crystal Clear case and one of those rubber cases that just cover the back (black).

Does it help to have the receipt when I sell? I assume the warranty will apply to it just like if I were selling someone an iPod, which I do often to upgrade.

Should I sell it with or without the SIM card in it or does it matter? I may talk to AT&T about this and if I can use the SIM in it for my new phone I may keep it. SIMs are pretty much free when you activate anyways.

Anyway, I am about 90% sure I will be selling it and moving back to the BB. It is a WONDERFUL multi-media phone but I would rather just have a BB and a Nano as I never seem to use the iPod part of my iPhone. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Another thing. I saw some guy here posting his for $285 and that seems low to me. Is that the guy that that girl had PayPal trouble with? Hope not. Anyways, I have been checking eBay and they are consistently going for around $350. I am pretty OCD so I have no doubt that whoever buys mine will be happy with it. It is actually tried and tested as it has no dead pixles, has not crashed, has never been modded or hacked, has no scratches to the screen and I don't think the back even has any scratches. It is really in 95% new shape.

Thanks for the help.

I have updated the firmware so it is 1.1.1. I am pretty conservative and value reliability over hacking... It has never crashed so there has to be something said for keeping it pure. What others do is up to them.

I always use eBay closing bids as a guide and the last one I watched close was $360 + $15 for shipping. I used to work for UPS HQ so I know it shouldn't be more than $10 to ship this phone in around 3 days almost anywhere in the U.S.

On a scale of 1-10 I would put the phone at a 9 or 9.5. I am really OCD and didn't even set the iPhone down on a bar or table until I had that rubber case on it. I have 2 extra Crystal Shields I would include and I have not even used the ear buds. I unpacked them but never used them as I have more headphones than I ever should have bought.. I also have the two cases I would include. I would probably ship the iPhone without the screen protector that is on it now so that I can verify before I ship it that the screen has no flaws... told you I was OCD... but I have the original box and all so that would work fine I think.

I will keep this up to date as the phone I am thinking of switching to *may* be out next week or the end of next week. It will be hard to give up the internet of the iPhone but I really need better email and some 3P apps that I am missing.

Thanks for the interest.

I would sell it for $360 and that would include shipping inside the U.S.

I just have to make sure I am ready to do it and decide if I am going to go 8820 or 8310 (Blackberry). I am going to be so ticked when I sell it and then the 3P app floodgates open up...

If I sell it here I will stand behind my price of $360. I have been looking at eBay today and they are actually going for a bit higher, even out of the box.. Wow. I could really make some $$ by unlocking it but I would prefer to not do that and just sell it like you get it from the store. I will let ya'll know.

Ok, sorry about this but the sale of my iPhone just got put on hold. I was just handed a brand new 8820 as a gift. Now I can wait out the 3P app possibility and use this 8820 in the meantime..

Sorry for the confusion but I am STOKED I just got a free 8820!!

I bought that phone and the seller could not have been better. I paid $285 that included overnight shipping 2 cases and a Crystal Shield on it. I feel as if I got a very good deal on the phone but if he is happy I’m even happier with my Like new Iphone.

That is a very good deal and you are right in that if both parties are happy, it is a perfect deal.
