Default Time Capsule + External HD + MacBook

let me get the technical stuff out of the way:

MB - MacBook
TC - Time Capsule - 500 GB
HD - Lacie Quadra 2 301442U - 1 TB

the set-up:

i'm currently using TC as a wireless hard drive for my iTunes library. it's now full with 300 gigs of music/movies and 200 gigs of backup data. i just bought the Lacie HD and intend to keep it plugged into the TC to triple my capacity. my first thought is to "back up" the music from TC to HD, wipe the TC and change the iTunes library location. I would then back up the MB and HD to the TC.

the question:

does this sound reasonable?
is there a better way?

could i keep using the TC as my wireless hard drive and have everything back up to the Lacie?

did i forget to mention...to mention Memphis?

That should work either way.

Although accessing your iTunes library wirelessly through a time capsule
is S-L-O-W.
