honestly, though, i went with it, and now i've gotten used to it. most sites (this one, for instance) aren't wide enough to necessitate the full screen anyway. of course, you have a smaller screen than i do, so i could understand your irritation.
Agh well, least I don't feel so bad now if that's not just me. Already loving this.
Also loving the Evernote app more every day - awesome app and syncs across Windows, Web, Mac, Mobile (as in looks ok on the iPhone and WinMo browsers) - took less than 5 minutes to have it installed on the Mac and work with all my 'transition' notes.

Oh, and it's on offer today at Giveaway of the Day today - worth checking out if you haven't already got it:

Reading texts from images is one of its real clever features, but it's an all purpose note-taking app - it uses tags, you can clip blocks of text from a web page, or an entire page, and lots of cool stuff. I use it as my all-round throw everything into it sort of app for tracking projects, and keeping notes on all sorts of subjects. It's continuously updating its indexing so you can find anything super quick, and it also keeps everything in sync between web and local app - so info is at your disposal anywhere you go and can get a web connection - I'm not doing it justice ...

In the lower right corner of any window is a little area with lines. You can drag this to extend the window to any size you want. Also if you didn't know, you can hide the dock to give even more screen space.

I know but once you do it, it will hold that position.
For all the newbies here I found a "Dummies" book on the OS X system to be really helpful. You will find many little things that I am sure are in the help menu's,but would probably never come across unless you read everyone. One example is did you know you can put wallpaper in the finder window? That might be a ho-hum one, but there is some really go info. in the book.

until you want to go back to the other size... meaning it doesn't store the "full" window, and "partial" window.
