I'm sure the bad reviews about the Speck case on Apples site is nothing compared to people just taking them back to the store for refunds.
What I'd like to know is if Apple did anything for these customers as a result of the damages the MacBooks sustained from these cases; especially those whose purchase of the MacBook was only a few hours old and within those few hours, end up with a laptop that looks like they had it at least 10 years.
