Default Good ram for Unibody Macbook?

Is this a good deal for 2.4 unibody Macbook? I had for gigs of Crucial and it kept crashing over and over. Yes I know I will have to buy two sticks. Let me know what you guys are using and a good price.

that's a good price, but i've heard the unibodies are picky with RAM... might as well go with some apple approved stuff like this... cheaper too. Kingston is a good brand.

Yea I had a horrible experience with CRUCIAL. Im looking for someone that has a unibody and has a brand that works.

mine came with 4GB stock, so i can't give a first-hand experience, but i've put that apple-approved kingston DDR3 memory in many unibodies at work and haven't heard of any issues.

at any rate, i bet that crucial memory has a lifetime warranty...

You know about the issue with it just freezing up and not responding with certain RAM. I contacted crucial about this and they immediately gave me a full refund and paid for shipping. They said that it was no apple's part and they did not know how to fix it.

Im also thinking about adding a WD scorpio black 7200rpm HDD. Can anyone comment on that and what they achieved by it?

I put one in mine last summer. I installed OSX onto it in 35 minutes. It's a good upgrade - not mindblowing, but good. If you can swing the cash for a solid state drive, I'd do that instead.

Man, have you seen the prices on SS drives? Newegg has 60GB for 239.00. To me, that's outrageous! Ah, but I would have one if I could afford it....

HOlY CRAP now its like $65. Wow the way things change. What do you guys think 7200rpm 250gb or 320gb? Im looking to be faster and run everything smoother. I want a faster HDD and I doubt I will ever fill up 250gb.
