You can also use your router to transfer you files, and that should be pretty easy.
After going to the Apple store, the Air did not excite me as much as I thought of would. I think you will be very happy with your MBP.

I thought the migration assistant would be easier. It transferred over stuff, but I do not know what or where it went. I will poke around in there layer today after I do some household chores. I used iphonedrive which is now megaphone or something and sucked the stuff off my iPhone and put it in iTunes. That was pretty easy. I just want to find the stuff migration brought over and delete it if it is duplicates so I save space on my HD.

Using the router to transfer files seems out of my realm of knowledge at this point. I think I will look for some kind of book so I can learn more about my new MacBook!

if you have them both hooked up to your router, turn on file sharing on both computers. Then you'll find the computers in finder, and you can drag and drop your files.

Mogration Assistant should transfer things exactly as they were like an exact clone.

Maybe I did it wrong. It seemed to do its own thing. I couldn't chose files or programs.

"will this wireless?" - what?

I'm assuming you have a wireless router. Just make sure both are connected to your wireless network. The sharing is under "sharing" in system prefs. Also "get info" on your HDD on your desktop, and enable sharing on the entire drive so you can access anything on it.

Damn iphone typing! I don't know how I erased a whole word.

I meant wlll this work wirelessly through my router. I will look under system prefs for sharing like you said, for future reference. Of course, I already brought over a bunch of stuff.

Thanks!
