Default Apple Care?

Is there any good reason to buy Apple Care if I have State Farm insurance on my Macbook that will cover repairs/replacement for any reason including drops?

What would any benefit be other than that?

My wife has been a mac head her entire life and is a technology consultant both apple and pc. She insists we always buy Apple Care with a new apple product. You can get tech support over the phone for that additional year. I would certainly recommend it. What is the least costly mistake to make, to have it and not need it or to need it and not have it.

I've had 5 Apple Laptops, and 1 iMac. I only purchased the Applecare once. I ended up selling it. IMO I wouldn't get it, since you're covered. If you feel you MUST. Go to eBay and pick up an unused one for cheap.

That's what I was thinkng. They won't cover a drop on Apple Care and I don't think I'd ever need the tech support.
