It helps some who are less apt to technology. But in most cases, I'd say no classes necessary.
I might go to a few just for fun, but if you poke around enough you can easily learn your way around. There are even keyboard shortcuts listed in Sys.Pref. under keyboard and mouse.

Btw- do you guys think that a MBP would be a great computer to attend college with?
-As some of guys probably already know, when your out of the house your kinda poor even if you've been saving money since your first job, so im gonna need a computer that will stay current/ and as up-to-date with technology for atleast 3-4 years.

The MBP is a bit big to be carrying around campus. Also it probably has more features than you need for school. I would just think about the macbook. It is smaller and a bit lighter and should be all you need.

+1 ..plus if you're on a budget the MacBook just makes more sense.
that's definitely something to think about. My opinion is that 15" is not much bigger than 13" where portability is an issue... and there's something to be said for an aluminum case. Plus, if he plans to do any gaming (sounds lie it's gonna be his only computer), the Nvidia graphics card in the Pro will help immensely.

Aaaawwww! From the pictures/ and videos i've seen it didnt seem that big, but I guess that just what camera do to it- Kinda like when you notice difference of seeing an iPhone in a picture, and actually holding one in your hands.
My plan was to get a MBP for college, and seeing that it is so expensive I were hoping that the technology inside could last me for like 4-5 years, which would we be around the time I'd be finishing my double major in Finance/ and Accounting.
-Now that I think about it, usually when people post about owning a macbook pro they usually mention in some way of being an graphics engineer, or working on movies, music, anything media related, so I guess I would have wasted alot of money?
Thanks
Btw- what about a MacBook Air, that seems the perfect computer for a college student?

After owning both, I'd say this:
If this machine is going to be your primary machine, do NOT get the air. I loved it, but ended up with a MBP, due to hardware issues (dead pixels, random things). I was fine, because it was my second machine. If it was my primary, there's no way I could have lived with the peripherals gone.
IMO, you won't be wasting your money going with a MBP. For 2k, you're getting a machine that will last you through college. It SHOULD be able to handle most programs until you graduate. I know some people who are running power pc's still to this day. While in 4 years it won't be cutting edge, it will still be useful and hopefully used.

Thats what I was hoping for
