Default macbook pro ram?

What's up guys? I want to upgrade both my macbook and macbook pro. If i buy 2GBx2 for the pro, can i use the old ones to upgrade the reg macbook?

I believe you can use the old MBP ram for the MB. They both use DDR2 PC2-5300 chips.

he is correct you can use them. so no worries and give that macbook some more ram!

hell yeah. i copped 2x2GB today for 89 each and now maxed out on my macbook pro. and yes the old rams work with the macbook white, so that has 2gbs in total. but i heard the the macbooks can support out to 3. i'm going to take one of the 2gb to test this out and let you guys know.

its nice having 4gb of ram... i purchased my mbp with it... i know it would of been cheaper to do it the way you did.. but it didnt bother me so i went for it lol.

i did the same!...i figured with leopard coming out and nobody really knowing how much of a strain it would be id go for the extre ram

i just put 4GB in mine... got it all for $83 Employee discounts are nice.

anyway, for others reading this thread wanting to upgrade, newegg usually has 4GB packs for round $100.

yeah crucial is great. I use that site all the time to check memory compatibility for computers at work.

I upgraded my MBP to 4GB tonight. I went to BestBuy. I'm all in favor of best to buy it now and enjoy it now. If I ever order things online, I choose next day delivery.
