Default ivideochat not working, any ideas?

so my sister and i both have macbook pros, we live in different cities, and wanted to try out the video chat that goes along with ichat. we can't get it to work whenever she is at school. if she is here at the house and we try it out it works fine, or if she is anywhere close around my house. wondering if anyone experienced this and what the problem could be. there is no firewall or anything (she is at school), but it just won't work. i have tried to search but no luck. thanks in advance, love the macbook pro so far.

has she tried it on multiple networks at her school?

if not, i'd ask her to go to a Panera Bread Co or Starbucks to try it there. It's possible whatever network she's on blocks that traffic.

It's gotta be a firewall thing.

yah i'm thinking it is internet connection. we tried sending files, started with small and then moved to large ones through the ichat connection and it only works about 50% of the time with small picture files. she is moving to dc for the summer and should have a much better internet connection there, so hopefully we can get it to work. thanks for the advice everyone, i appreciate it.
