will blackra1n work on my macbook air?

cause i herd a little while ago you couldnt jailbreak with a macbook air or later version because of something, and you cant break the dfu mode? just wondering if i jailbreak my iphone 3g on my macbook will it go into dfu mode. Just early i jailbroke my freinds 2g ipod touch using blackra1n on a windows comp and its soo easy
