Default Safari Freezing/Hanging?

This is so frustrating but whenever I am browsing and go to a site with Animated Gifs, my safari gets the spinning rainbow wheel and hangs for minutes before I have to just force quit. Now I have not updated to Snow Leopard yet but I should have it here by the end of the week. Will this issue get better with Snow Leopard or should I just go with a different Web Browser. I just want to throw something at my iMac when it happens. Very frustrating. Any help is great.

I agree. I do the same thing. I love Ad block plus.

Yeah guys are correct. I have installed Firefox and have no issues with freezing/hanging on those same pages. It just sucks because I love Safari. I wish Apple would address that issue.
