Default DVD RW won't eject

I have an iMac, and I put a rewritable dvd in to see what was on it, and I can't get it to eject, no matter how many methods or attempts. Any ideas?

I tried ejecting thru finder, by dragging icon to the trash, by right-clicking and choosing eject, by pushing the eject button on the K/B, and I've restarted the computer. Help!!!

Nevermind, I restarted the iMac in Windows and ejected it that way.

On the G5 towers we have at work, I push open the little silver door and reach in with my pinky and hit the damn button. Stupid Apple!

I wish I had that luxury.

Man I am glad it worked out for you, I faced the same thing before but the CD didn't want to eject neither in Windows nor Macintosh OS X. There was a little trick that I didn't know about but as they always say "Google is your friend".

I had to get a sharp tool and force push that little black thing (which I thought was the infrared port but ehhh)

But I also had to cut those "flaps" or whatever they are called

Long journey. lol
