This is a discussion on confused help me within the Mac OS X forums, part of the Apple Hardware and Software category; So i wana get snow lepord and i wana go to the store to buy it. When i go into ...
So i wana get snow lepord and i wana go to the store to buy it. When i go into a store how would apple know that i bought lepord last year, and give me snow lepord for 29 bucks ensted of 169 that tiger users have to pay?
thanks
I honestly don't think that's right, well what your saying anyway.
Tiger and Leopard are totally different.
Snow-Leopard is an add-on to Leopard. Thats why the price is so small.
So if you have Leopard installed, get down them shops and install it.
I'm no expert with the MacBook Air, but you will need a DVD drive to install Snow-Leopard.
I assume you have an External DVD drive available... right?
All you have to do is install Snow-Leopard via a DVD.
(if you have a MacBook Air, you must have Leopard already installed)
I don't know if it's different in the US or something, but Snow-Leopard is an add-on to Leopard.
Thats why it's so cheap. I can't understand why you would have to take your Air into an Apple Store. Having a Copy of Snow-Leopard would be useless to somebody on Tiger
Well I don't know about the Tiger Part but I'm 99.9% sure it's for the current Leopard owners.
I can't really answer the question, as I'm on Leopard and Tiger i've forgotten about.

NO, they have Snow Leopard for $29 and the $49 family pack. Just go into the store and buy the single version for $29 or the family pack for $49.No one will ask for proof that you bought Leopard last year.

Dont listen to iphonewarrior. No offense but he doesn't know what he's talking about. Snow Leopard is not an addon, its a new OS. OSX 10.6 to be exact. Second, if you have leopard then all you need to do is buy the $29 DVD which is the full OS. Tiger users are supposed to pay for the full box set although there are reports that snow leopard will install fine.
