Default Time Capsule Question

this may be a dumb question but i was wondering is buying a time capsule like buying an external harddrive and wireless router in one because it seems to have all the ports plus while reading some info on it it says

Connect your DSL or cable modem to Time Capsule and quickly create a new wireless network
sorry if this is a dumb question was just wondering

Yes it is, external hard drive and wireless router all in one. More like a networked hard drive.....

Yeah, for all intents and purposes it's just a networked hard drive that can act as a router for your local network, which in itself is very attractive. I'd be happy with just a network hard drive, but the fact that it can replace my old Linksys router, backup my Macs, and update me to the latest 802.11n compliancy has me shaking my head in disbelief that yet another ground breaking product has come from Apple. How does a company continually release innovative products that put as much emphasis in usability as it does with pushing the envelope?

Whatever they smoke up there, I want some, NOW!!!

Does anyone know how fast Time Capsule is? I tried Time Machine with a (somewhat) defective external drive, and I found that it slowed down my 2.33 Ghz iMac. It could have been the drive, but I'm wondering if Time Machine affects your Mac's speed.

well, I just bought my Time Capsule on Saturday and I'm loving it. Both my wife's and my MacBook pro are backing up wirelessly to Time Capsule. Best of all, I can now store all my storage files into Time Capsule and I've connected it to my laser printer allowing me to print wirelessly. No more lugging around an external hard drive and having to plug in the printer when we want to print something. The setup is a breeze and I'll strongly recommend anyone who wants to make their Mac life easier to get 1. Also, we noticed that our network speeds have peaked tremendously and surfing is a breeze now!!

If any of you would like more info or a more in-depth review, send me a message.
