1. You should be able to sync with more than one computer and therefore, transfer your contacts, and just about anything else. Here is some
INFO from iPhone Atlas.
2. Yes and yes
3. If you do a lot of movies/graphic stuff, get the faster processor (2.8Ghz), 4GB of memory and a larger HD (lat least the 750GB). If you don't, I'd still get the faster processor. Memory can be upgraded later (up to 4GB). I always get the AppleCare Protection plan, mainly for access to 3 years of free support. I still have to have a Mac (in 15 years) that needed to be sent away for repairs. The worst thing that ever happened to me is that a videocard went bad and I put the new one in myself (a swap job).

1: Will my iPhone settings convert over to the mac on their own or will I have to restore it?
2: Is the camera and iChat really as good as seen in the videos? I assume if it is, the people on the other end will see a quality picture, but I will only see the quality their camera puts out. Is this correct?
3: The iMac is less than $2,000 so I will have money left over for upgrades. What should I get? I don't want it to be a dinosaur in 6 months!
