Default Mac Os 10.5.1 Upgrade Disaster

For those of you who might have upgraded to 10.5.1 already: if you get into the startup Assistant endless loop at restart, don't give up! I spent hours trying to figure it out. Nothing worked. I thought I had lost my main drive. However. The solution is very easy and has been posted on the Apple Forums
(search for the Mac Os X 10.5.1 Disaster thread).

Did you have that logitech or whatever 'application enhancer' installed?

I read it was giving blue screens and reboot loops.

My upgrade went OK. I use a macbook hooked to a 23" cinema screen, adn I temporarily lost my clamshell mode. If I closed the lid my external mouse or keyboard would not wake the computer. It seem to clear up after a few reboots.

No, no logitech or app enhancer. The startup installer infinite loop has been reported with previous OS like Tiger, but somehow this Leopard upgrade really triggered it for a lot of people.

It updated for me fine. Took about 10 minutes.

Sorry to hear about your issues.
