Exclamation iTunes Rentals: Cannot connect to store

I'm having an issue with rented movies in iTunes. I rented Live Free or Die Hard this morning, and I'm in the process of transferring it to my iPhone. However, once it is done transferring, I get an error message stating that the movie could not be transferred to the iPhone because iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store.

I successfully transferred The Italian Job to the iPhone earlier this month, with the error. My internet connection is fine, and I can connect to the store inside of iTunes. Anybody know of any fixes?

I thought this was fixed with Zibri's jailbreak? I could have sworn I read a post from Tinman saying rentals worked now.

I'll give it a go when I get home if you don't get an answer before then.

I sent the iTunes Support team an email about and got one back from John (odd) saying that the iTunes store was having issues today and that I might want to try again. I did, without success.

My phone is still jailbroken with the method from the Dev Team, if that matters. Do I need to re-jailbreak with ZiPhone?

You're not on zibri's?

Dev team distro is known to not work with rentals. It never worked when I had tried, and I was under the assumption it would be fixed by a patch to re-enable Nikita, the encryption method used in 1.1.3.

Zibri's doesnt have this problem apparently. Its also a really quick and easy process. Its PC only right now, hope u got vmware/parallels handy.

Really? I was under the impression it was for Mac as well after reading this. If it is, I suppose I'll re-do the jailbreak in the morning.

Ya, ijailbreak has been out for like a week, but I've read nothing but problems by those who have tried it. I mean it works but there was just more cleanup afterwards that I dint want to have to deal with knowing the PC JB is pretty much perfect.

Hmm..

I suppose I'll look into it a bit, see exactly what 'cleanup' I'll need to do. I'd like to have the movie on the iPhone tomorrow when I down to Virginia.

I re-did the jailbreak successfully. Used the Mac GUI of ZiPhone and it worked perfectly. Not only did the move transfer successfully, the locator feature in Google Maps now works without having to use LocateMe.

Good to hear it went smoothly. I'd much rather JB on my native Mac OS.

The google find me feature also works the same in this pc build of zibri's JB.

I have yet to try rentals though, will later tonight.
