How is my phone filled up to capacity and I have nothing on it?
I have no music on my phone..only a few photos and contacts. That is it. I plug my iphone into itunes and I have 11.25 GB of "other" filled up and I can't add the music I want to. Whats is the problem?
I believe that other is the OS, but it should not be anywhere near that size. My "Other" size is 230.9 MB.
Restoring it should fix the problem.

It's the only way that I know of. It sounds like it's corrupt.
I just did a full restore to factory settings this morning since my phone was Jailbroken and I want to upgrade to 3.0 later today. The whole process took me less than an hour and that included syncing my media back on and putting my settings back in.

Something probably went wrong with a sync at some point and it moved stuff into that section and there is no way to remove stuff from that section without restoring.
Normally the other section contains the OS, iPhone settings, email messages, SMS messages, notes, contacts, calendar events, recent calls, favorites, and a browser cache.
The problem could have been from music or videos that weren't coded right so they got thrown into "other"
