Default Help my iphone wont sync with itunes 8.01 anymore after computer restore!

HELP MY IPHONE WONT SYNC WITH ITUNES 8.01 ANYMORE AFTER COMPUTER RESTORE! I reinstalled the original manufacturer disk because i wanted ichat back after i had deleted it, so after that i pulled up my itunes and tried to sync my iphone 3g 16 gig with the latest software to my computer but nothing happened and the iphone syncing screen didnt even show up on my itunes!! can someone please help me?

i assume you're on a Mac?

sounds like the iTunes Helper process may not be running. if you open activity monitor (applications/utilities/Activity Monitor), see if it is listed in the processes list.

can you open the activity monitor to check for the iTunes Helper?

Try switching USB ports

-Cause if the easy fixes dont resolve the problem did youve probably got yourself a serious problem maybe requiring a phone call to 1-800-MY-APPLE

thank you, but the iphone charges fully when plugged in but it jsut dosent show up in itunes any ideas why?

yes the itunes helper is running..the phone still charges but it jsut dosent show up in itunes...
