Default Help: all I want to do is back up before I loose everything on the phone.

Hi there,.. I've been reading thru the post and got some great tips on howtos.

But must say that, while I love the iphone... I'm beginning to hate the iTunes.

I don't listen to music... I use the iPhone for business.. as though it was a computer in my back pocket.

(I wish apple had created a simple program specific for the iphone)..

I'm frustrated, .because there isn't a simple view that simply:
• shows you what's on the phone and what's been backedup

It been almost 5 weeks of trying to back up my iphone... and I am still not sure if it has been backed up.

Here's what happens.. " it takes forever to back up.. (last count it took 20 hours before it crashed itunes)"

The iPhone:
• Non jail broken iPhone
• everything on the phone has been bought/download via the appstore through the iphone only
• in terms of capacity..I've used 14.50GB of 16GB (9.80GB are video tutorials from Stanford uni )

The backup scenario so far:
• the laptop (win xp) that used to sync-backup the iPhone did not have more than 4GB spare space to complete the backup. (I've stopped using this laptop for backup purposes)
• Next, I download itunes on to a desktop (also running win xp) with lots of space.
• backup on this machine takes over 20 hours before crashing...

Bottom line:
• what am I not doing right?
• what should I check for?
• all I wanted to do is ensure that the stuff (apps, settings, notes etc on my phone are not lost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Larry
